And Queen Esther only ate, fruits, beans, grains, poppy and caraway pastries and yet she was fit and beautiful.
Fasting is for YHVH’s (YAHUAH’s) people. Until the Jews rejected Yahusha YAHUAH’s people were the Jews. When the Jews rejected Yahusha, He opened Paradise (Third Heaven) to everyone who would believe and accept Yahusha as their Savior, repent their sins and be baptized by immersion by another Believer in Yahusha in the name of the FATHER, YAHUAH, the Son, Yahusha and the Holy Spirit, Ruach HaKodesh for the everlasting glory of Supreme King YAHUAH. 1. Fasting is a Force in the Spirit World. When the Disciples could not cast out the dumb and deaf spirit of the young son, they asked Yahusha, “Why could not we cast him out? And He said unto them, this kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting. (Mark 9:28-29). Supreme Prince Yahusha told them that because at that time they were not yet sealed by the Holy Spirit Supreme Ruach HaKodesh because Supreme Prince Yahusha did not yet ascended to the Third Heaven aka Paradise. It was only after Supreme Prince Yahusha ascended to Paradise that He sent the Holy Spirit to His Disciples when they were gathered in the Upper Room.
2. Unusual warfare requires unusual weapons.
3. Yahusha embraced Prayer and Fasting As Effective Weapons. Demon powers always succumb to these weapons. Then Yahusha led by the Holy Spirit to the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, He was hungry. (Matthew 4:1-2).
4. You should fast Between Major Events of Your Life. Yahusha did. When He was baptized by John He saw the Holy Spirit, Ruach HaKodesh descending like a dove, and lighting upon Him: And lo a voice from Heaven, saying this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 16-17). Then Yahusha fasted. His next major event was the selection of His disciples. “And Yahusha walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andres his brother, casting a net into the sea for they were fishers. And He saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed Him. And going on from there, He saw other two brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee, their father, mending their nets; and He called them. And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed Him.. (Matthew 4-18-22)
5. You should fast to influence the judgment of YAHUAH AWAY FROM YOUR CHILDREN. David did. “David therefore besought YAHUAH for the child; and David fasted and went in and lay all night upon the earth; but he would not, neither did he eat bread with them (2Samuel 12:16-17)
6. You should fast habitually. Anna did. Anna an 84 year old widow and prophetess never left the temple, but fasted continuously. (Luke 2:37)

9. You should fast for the healing of your children 2 Samuel 12:16-17

Fasting is not just food as you can see in these passages of the Book of Isaiah, Chapter 58.
Verse 1-5 is saying the people were fasting for the wrong reasons.

58 “Cry aloud, do not spare. Lift up your voice like a ram’s horn. Declare to My people their transgression, and the house of Ya‛aqoḇ their sins.
2 “Yet they seek Me day by day and delight to know My ways, as a nation that did righteousness and did not forsake the right-ruling of their ELOHIM. They ask of Me rulings of righteousness, they delight in drawing near to ELOHIM.
3 They say, ‘Why have we fasted and You have not seen? Why have we afflicted our beings and You took no note?’ “Look, in the day of your fasting you find pleasure and drive on all your laborers.
4 “Look, you fast for strife and contention and to strike with the fist of wrongness. you do not fast as you do this day, to make your voice heard on high.
5 “Is it a fast that I have chosen, a day for a man to afflict his being? Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush and to spread out sackcloth and ashes? Do you call this a fast and an acceptable day to YHVH?
Verse 6-7 is the fast that Supreme King YAHUAH is looking for.
6 “Is this not the fast that I have chosen: to loosen the tight cords of wrongness, to undo the bands of the yoke, to exempt the oppressed and to break off every yoke?
7 “Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; when you see the naked and cover him and not hide yourself from your own flesh?
The results of fasting is verse 8-12 and 14.
8 “Then your light would break forth like the morning, your healing spring forth speedily. And your righteousness shall go before you, the esteem of YHVH would be your rear guard.
9 “Then, when you call, YHVH would answer; when you cry, He would say, ‘Here I am.’ “If you take away the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger and the speaking of unrighteousness,
10 if you extend your being to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted being, then your light shall dawn in the darkness and your darkness be as noon.
11 “Then YHVH would guide you continually and satisfy your being in drought and strengthen your bones. You shall be like a watered garden and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
12 “And those from among you shall build the old waste places. You shall raise up the foundations of many generations. And you would be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.
During Sabbath, you should not do your own pleasure whatever it may be.
13 “If you do turn back your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on My set-apart day and shall call the Sabbath ‘a delight,’ the set-apart day of YHVH ‘esteemed,’ and shall esteem it, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words,
14 then you shall delight yourself in YHVH. And I shall cause you to ride on the heights of the earth and feed you with the inheritance of Ya‛aqoḇ your father. For the mouth of YHVH has spoken !”
